When you think of the Renato Ratti winery, you can’t help but remember the “Marcenasco”, the first example of winemaking of a single Barolo DOCG cru throughout Piedmont, back in 1965. A product always at the top of the entire company range, where the perfumes, varied and concentrated, open to a muscular sip, but always in perfect balance. Nebbiolo grapes ferment alcoholically at a controlled temperature of 30 °C in steel; then follows the ageing phase, carried out in oak barrels of different capacities for 24 months. A big red that challenges the passage of time.

2016 Renato Ratti Barolo Marcenasco DOCG
€ 55,00 NO VAT (private collection)
The 2016 Barolo Marcenasco is a very pretty wine. Orange peel, spice, sweet red berry fruit, mint and white pepper give the 2016 striking aromatic lift to match its gracious, perfumed personality. This is an especially airy, ethereal style with exotic aromatics and lithe structure. The 2016 looks like a wine that will be at its best over the next 10-15 years.
