The Rosso di Montalcino Doc di Baricci is produced by one of the most interesting companies in the northern area of Montalcino. Baricci has been cultivating vineyards since 1955 and still represents a reference for local wines. The grapes come from different vineyards of the estate, which are all located on the hill of Montosoli, at an altitude of 280 metres above sea level, with a sunny exposure facing south, southeast, which favours a full maturation of the grapes, also thanks to the presence of good thermal excursions between day and night temperatures. The vineyards are managed with care and attention, without the use of herbicides and with manual processing. At the end of the harvest, the best bunches are started to fermentation with the traditional maceration on the skins. Before bottling, the wine matures for a period of at least 8 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and rests in the cellar for a few months before being put on sale.
The Rosso di Montalcino DOC is a bright ruby red, characterised by an intense and persistent scent of small fresh fruits and light black cherry. Its flavour is harmoniously dry, it has nerp and freshness with an elegant aromatic persistence.
